Limits, value, tradition

Things are settling down in La Liga: Girona can’t keep up. It has shown its limitations. It doesn’t have the value to stand up to tradition. Real Madrid is the natural winner of the Spanish La Liga 2023-2024.

Michel’s Girona has had a spectacular season. They managed to beat Barcelona away. Of course, other teams have done it too, which explains why Xavi has already announced his departure in the summer. But where it counted, he failed. Real Madrid beat them by a scoreline worse than if they hadn’t turned up to Bernabeu: 4-0! It was a spectacular match, even if Girona never gave the impression that they could take the battle with the giant Real to the end. It was a golden matchday, the twenty-fourth, for Real Madrid, who seem to have already broken away in winning the championship. And March hasn’t even arrived yet!

The secret of success lies, of course, in value. Girona surfed the crest of a wave, but now the wave has broken.

Europe’s best player

Real Madrid, on the other hand, have solid ground under their feet. And then there’s Bellingham, this young Englishman who is a decade older than his age on his ID card and is, to date, the best footballer in Europe.

He’s not a goalscorer like Haaland, nor does he have the speed of Mbappe. But he’s the best footballer in Europe. He’s better than De Bruyne was at the peak of his career. He’s even better than Luka Modric was at Real at the peak of his career.

Real Madrid continues to run after Mbappe but they don’t catch him. It deludes itself that it will transfer the best player in Europe. It’s not the first time they haven’t seen what’s in front of them: they’ve already got him. It’s Bellingham.

The closest fight in La Liga

Barcelona couldn’t get past Granada either. They barely snatched a 3-3. Xavi brought to the team a style that even former legend Deco found obsolete. Barcelona only wins when they play closed, i.e. ugly, and they do it on the limit, 1-0. When they play open the problems arise, and any opponent will score at least one goal. To win the bets on Barcelona matches all you have to do is to watch the first 5 minutes of the match and then bet live either under 2,5 goals or over 3,5 goals & both to score.

Atletico surprisingly lost to Sevilla, who keep struggling to get out of the hot zone of the standings. And is officially in crisis. Plus, they lost Morata for what seems like a long time. Against Atletico you can therefore bet with some confidence in the next period.

Almeria, Granada and Cadiz look doomed, but there’s still more to play for (maybe only Almeria can be considered sure to slip into Segunda). After all, Granada just gave Barcelona three goals.

Bilbao, Betis and Sociedad are still fighting to grab a better place in the European cups. And just that – strictly speaking – is the closest fight in La Liga!
